House Pedagogue – Ireland


We are looking for one qualified social pedagogue to live and work as a lead House Pedagogue.

Ireland is in the EU and we are looking for EU citizens.

The employer is a small, private community for children and young people in care. Most of the young people have experienced abuse and/or neglect, resulting in a range of emotional, social and/or behavioural problems, sometimes resulting in concerns about their and others’ wellbeing.

The successful candidate will have a Social Pedagogy qualification (or equivalent). The salary is €37,500, before tax, when the home is fully occupied (maximum 4 young people) and decreases with lower occupancy (€32,500, if occupancy drops below 4 residents).

You will be expected to go on at least one international holiday with the residents (recent holidays were to Slovenia and Spain).

Hours of work are based on a 8-6-8-6 cycle; you will be on the 8-day shifts followed by 6 days off.

Annual leave is 205 hours per annum + bank holidays.

Staff housing, sharing with a colleague, is provided at no charge. If you wish to have your own accommodation, this will be at your own cost.

A full, clean driving licence is essential as the role requires driving and the area is very rural. Company vehicle is provided for work.
